Consultation and Training

Dr. Nackman feels excited to be affiliated with the very experienced group of therapists in her private practice. The group’s diverse approaches allow them to consult and collaborate on the most difficult of cases. Each member of the practice also participates on a weekly consultation group for families and couples, the Family Reflecting Team; and we recently began a study group focusing on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Participation in several ongoing peer consultation groups, outside of the practice, continues to be invaluable to Dr. Nackman’s growth as a therapist and work with her clients. Membership on a testing consultation team helps Dr. Nackman stay abreast of new developments in the area of assessment and continue to hone her evaluation skills. Taking numerous trainings and courses also allows her to stay current in the field. Dr. Nackman completed the two year Infant and Young Child Mental Health Seminar offered at the Washington School of Psychiatry. Several courses offered by the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders including the DIR/Floortime Model, Regulatory Processing Disorders, and Meltdowns, were also completed. Dr. Nackman is quite excited to be part of a newly formed Interdisciplinary Discussion Group dedicated to gaining an enhanced understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorders and providing the most effective services to members of our community.
